The Story Behind Stargazing 101

Why This Site Exists

When I first got into astronomy, I hit a wall. Every article or video either felt too basic or way too complex. I’d spend hours digging through forums or long blog posts just to answer one simple question. It was overwhelming, and honestly, it almost made me give up.

So, I decided to build the kind of resource I wish I’d found when I was starting out.

Stargazing101 is for anyone who wants to explore the night sky without the frustration. I write every guide, tool, and tip with one goal: to make stargazing simple, accessible, and actually enjoyable. Whether you’re buying your first telescope or figuring out which eyepiece to use, you’ll find clear, beginner-friendly info here with enough depth that even seasoned stargazers can learn something new.

It’s just getting started, but my goal is to make Stargazing101 the place for new astronomers. I’ve got big plans, more tools, more guides, more ways to cut through the noise and help you fall in love with the sky.

Core Values

These are the principles that shape everything I create at Stargazing101:

Accessibility

Astronomy shouldn’t feel intimidating. I’m building resources that are easy to understand, beginner-friendly, and totally jargon-optional, because the sky belongs to everyone.

Curiosity

The night sky is full of questions, and that’s what makes it magical. Stargazing101 is here to fuel that spark, to help you explore, wonder, and never stop asking what else is out there.

Community

Even though this started as a solo project, it’s for all of us. Whether you’re brand new or years into the hobby, you’re part of a growing crew of stargazers who believe in sharing what we learn and celebrating the journey together.
